I thought it was funny/interesting that the last post was about Anna's ADHD. We definitely have not had an easy road with the girls and school. Fingers crossed that Maddie's experience is better, but at this point, I feel like we have run the gamut of issues, so we are prepared if something comes up with her!
Anyway...
Grace's 1st day of 3rd grade! Why is this significant besides the fact she is cute? Because she has dyslexia and it has been a tough couple of years for her at school academically and emotionally. This year she is starting a new school that specializes in teaching kids with dyslexia. When Joe dropped her off, despite having stomach aches during the past few days out of nerves, when she jumped out of the car she was nervous but she gave Joe an "I got this dad" smile and his heart melted because school is so hard for her but she knows deep down she has to persevere.
When I got this picture sent to me from her teacher "Good Life" by OneRepublic was playing and it was that moment when you realize that it's going to be OK and hopefully things are now moving in the right direction. So happy that she looks happy and content, and feeling the relief that hopefully we finally have her on the right track!
